In keeping with the spring-like winter weather, the Niederrheinländer punk rockers blow us bridging Since February 21st, there has been a breath of fresh air with the new album «In goldenen Ketten». The successful combination of punk, rock and metal works and burns your ears on the first listen. The 15 songs offer a nice mix of fast and mid-tempo tracks with plenty of sing-along choruses. The texts play in the first league, seem well thought out and one hundred percent coherent. The album is thematically located between party and social criticism and wants to motivate independent thinking. The sound quality is high and the instruments and vocals are excellently coordinated. That's how it should be!
"Unhappy slaves are bad for the rulers," is how the group describes their basic idea behind the CD. “They gang up, they stir up trouble. But if the chains are made of gold, things are different. People around the world give up their rights and freedoms willingly and gratefully. Big brother sees everything. He protects. He is a blessing to us! Don't think! Don't question!" The bad thing about punk rock à la BRDigung is simply that they don't just make party music, but encourage people to think. "In goldenen Ketten" is the young band's fourth studio album with 15 brand new songs that have it all and touch the wound. This band knows how to capture the anger and desperation of a generation in music. A generation born in debt. A generation that's sold war as peace. A generation willingly sacrificing privacy on the altar of security. A generation that puts itself in golden chains.
In golden chains is angry! Punk rock with a good broadside Metal, paired with angry, biting but also ironic lyrics. For pure music consumers, the album is a steam hammer of special quality. Powerful punk rock paired with metal, one or the other number to chill out. And even with this, BRDigung stands out from the crowd of other punk rock and German rock bands. Simply good music, in the best shape. The record only becomes more interesting if you take the time to go into the lyrics. Be it senseless wars, hypocrisy or the stun grenades that the media shoot at us. The mirror is held up to everything and a warning is shouted at the same time. Stop fooling us! Why such bands only eke out a small niche existence in the music circus is, to be honest, a mystery to me.
Songs like "In golden chains", "Trügerischer Frieden" or "No one dies alone" speak for themselves and "Endlose Nacht" clearly reflects the ravages of time. But even party songs like "Summer Song" still have their message, which is worth exploring in more detail. With «NWO2020» BRDigung then go on the trail of a huge conspiracy theory, or do they uncover it? Is it really just paranoia? "No barriers for the banks, free people on their knees", does that only sound familiar to me? "In goldenen Ketten" is diverse and the cover is tasteful and offers plenty of room for interpretation, the booklet captivates with a mixture of song lyrics and artistic images. The limited box set includes the CD in a digipak, a fan scarf, a key fob and a signed autograph card. There is also a cast 3D logo of the album cover on the box.
On "In goldenen Ketten" BRDigung remains the same musically and lyrically on the new fifteen tracks. Upbeat melodic punk with German lyrics and a sing-along effect. As always, the party is in focus and this album should definitely be good for a decent live atmosphere. If you want to celebrate socially critical texts wrapped in punk metal, you definitely can't ignore this band. Even if the band's ideas are old hat, this record is the best of their band career so far. On this album, the metallic side comes to the fore again. This mixture of punk rock and metal is exactly what's so much fun! Congratulations on this absolutely successful work and great album! Friends, break the golden chains! You don't need them anymore!
