With "Welcome to immortality" greet us Hematoma on their latest work «Keinzeitmensch» and it quickly becomes clear that no prisoners are being taken, here there is something for the ear as well as for the brain. They can play, the guys from Franconia, the new CD kicks off directly and unabashedly until the pineal gland rotates. Unfortunately, the lyrics don't really work out, they are partly well done, but in places also quite flat and at most pseudo-provocative and not nearly as crass as Hematoma actually want to present themselves. They play a mixture of earthy rock, street punk that here and there goes a little bit into the hardcore camp and sometimes a little bit of nu metal and neo-thrash. Anyone who likes it will definitely enjoy the children's make-up combo «Keinzeitmensch».
What is the man of today? What are his goals? Which heroes? Do we still find many answers to these questions in the present time? Where are we headed when smartphones rule our everyday lives and political opinions are seen as a secondary evil? In the eyes of the four cardinal points we are slipping into a meaningless time in which an elite class dictates what we have to believe and the industry showers us with meaningless dirt until we choke on our own garbage. In this elbow society, only the alpha animals are allowed to climb Mount Olympus, the rest falls by the wayside because they cannot manage the steep climb and cannot keep up with the ever faster turning clock. But before he gets up and tries to do something about this decline, he remains silent and inactive. A no-time human with no future or past. The grievances of reality are brought straight to the point and the audience is smacked in the face with Nord's unmistakable organ. "We are aware that we cannot save the world, but if we manage to shake things up and make people think, then we have already achieved a lot with our music." makes Drummer Süd unmistakably clear.
In addition to the Hämatom-typical texts, such as in "The Fourth Power" about the influential media landscape, Hämatom dive into the problem of cloning in "Best Friend, Best Enemy". A topic that has been hotly debated for years is given a special dramaturgy here through text passages from Goethe's "Magician's Apprentice". "Ahoi", a track with a driving beat that goes uncompromisingly forward, has a very striking effect due to the recurring singing of "Ahoi" in the chorus, but has depth in its verses. A refugee's attempt to reach paradise Europe by sea is set to music in a dramatic manner. An odyssey without a happy ending. A song with musical and textual violence. In the song «Morgenrot», Hämatom dedicate themselves to a supernatural phenomenon. «A heart loses the last battle before a bright light awakens». In plain language of popular belief: the phase of pregnancy, up to the birth of a baby, is often accompanied by the death of a well-known person. But what happens if the selected soul does not want to vacate its place? When she hangs deep in the rotten armrest of her chair and doesn't want to give way, even though the fetus in the mother's womb would have been ripe to see the light of day long ago. In Morgenrot, the pregnant woman has no choice but to take her fate into her own hands and to help the fortune with all her might. This song is a trip into a bizarre cabinet of thoughts of superstition.
"The spiral of madness keeps turning and we are right in the middle of it." says singer Nord and so it's not surprising that in 2013 it won't be quiet around the German metal band Hämatom. The past year was without question the most successful in the band's history: the entry of their last album "If one talks about the devil" at number 60 in the Media Control Charts, their debut at the Wacken Open Air and the sensational entry of their first live DVD "Schutt und Asche » in 8th place in the Media Control DVD Charts are just some of the highlights of the past season. On August 30, 2013, the first single in the band's history, "Alte Liebe rostet nicht" will be released. In addition to the title track, two other exclusive non-album tracks will be included on the single. And then the Franks take the next hit on the auditory system and in September 2013 they present their latest long play «Keinzeitmensch». The vocal performance can't pull out a lot. Singer Nord isn't bad, but he's also not particularly great. They should be “spontaneous and honest”, “without mincing their words”, but this “honesty” can never really be transmitted by hematoma, too much sounds fake. The gentlemen North, South, East and West definitely prove that they can make good music. Wonderfully raw, they pound forward and develop a dynamic - powerful, focused, versatile and even melodic in certain phases, so that the album is just fun despite everything.
