In August last year, Erdogan released 38 prisoners to make room for his opponents. Meanwhile, the prisons are bursting at the seams again, so there are only two options for relief: pardon or burial. In addition, a prisoner costs the Turkish taxpayer just under € 000 per day. As a comparison: a dose of potassium chloride, which is preferably used in the event of death by injection, costs just under € 70 once. If you calculate the black market prices for healthy organs, you are quickly back in the black. Actually, hardly anything speaks against the death penalty. Except maybe human dignity - maybe.
