The designer Mark Stukenboom has with "21 Grams» designed an elegant memory box with which the loss of a partner can be compensated for in an elegant way. The box should offer something like an all-round experience, because if you fill it with your partner's perfume beforehand, it exudes his familiar scent when opened. At the same time, a connected iPod provides the appropriate soundtrack from days gone by.
The literal highlight of the box, however, is a mouth-blown glass dildo that offers space for 21 grams of ashes of the partner's remains. Because 21 grams is supposedly the “weight of the soul,” according to the American doctor Duncan McDougall 1907 to have determined in an experiment.
