Heath Ledger war ein gefeierter Schauspieler, talentiert und auch noch hübsch anzusehen. Sein Tod bewegte Millionen und rührt auch heute noch zu Trauer. Nun wird Heath Ledger ein bewegender Dokumentarfilm gewidmet. «Er war immer umgeben von Kameras. So erinnere ich mich an ihn, wenn ich an ihn denke: mit einer Kamera in der Hand», erzählt Model Christina Cauchi. Zu sehen ist diese Szene im ersten Trailer zur Dokumentation «I Am Heath Ledger», ein Film über das Leben und Sterben des Schauspielers, der 2008 mit 28 Jahren viel zu früh von uns ging.
Die Dokumentation besteht zu grossen Teilen aus Filmaufnahmen, die Heath Ledger selbst gedreht hat. Sie zeigen ihn im Bett, wie er durch die Kamera mit dem Publikum spricht. Man sieht ihn mit Spiegeln hantieren, um die richtige Einstellung zu finden. Er ist am Strand, in der Natur, saugt alle Eindrücke auf und entlädt sie wiederum in Fotos und Filmschnipseln. Aber auch seine Freunde aus der Kindheit, seine Schwester oder auch Regisseure und andere Schauspieler, mit denen Ledger in seiner erfolgreichen Karriere zusammengearbeitet hatte, werden zu Wort kommen. Es ist bisher allerdings weder bekannt, ob seine damalige Freundin und Schauspielerin Michelle Williams, die Mutter seiner Tochter Mathilda, ebenfalls in «I Am Heath Ledger» vorkommen wird oder wann wir den Film in unseren Breiten zu Gesicht kriegen. Ende April findet die Erstaufführung am Tribeca Film Festival statt, danach geht es in Amerika los, bevor die Dokumentation dann am 17. Mai im US-Sender Spike die TV-Premiere feiert.
