Google Maps is a pretty cool tool for marveling at places around the world that you might never physically be able to visit. So you can look at the Statue of Liberty or stand on Red Square in Moscow. Warner Bros. is now taking advantage of this explorer trait and is now offering a virtual tour of Diagon Alley. This busy street, which had several appearances in the Harry Potter films, can be walked along by Street View from "Diagon Alley at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London" on Google Maps. You can walk the entire street, see the buildings and shops, and even zoom in to see the details.
Diagon Alley is a busy shopping street in central London, behind the Leaky Cauldron pub. It offers restaurants, shops and other sights and as the center of "magical" London it is completely isolated from the Muggle world. As Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe visited the cinematic Diagon Alley for the first time together with Hagrid, who introduced him to this magical world. A few years later, the return of Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) shaped the look of Diagon Alley. Many wizards and witches no longer dared to go outside and the once lively streets were swept empty. "Wanted" posters with the faces of Death Eaters now hung on the previously lovingly decorated shop windows, and protective amulets were primarily available for purchase.
