Julia Ducournaus Film «Raw» über die junge Vegetarierin Justine mit dem grossen Hunger auf Menschenfleisch soll der Legende nach die Leute in Cannes äusserst verstört zurückgelassen haben, während die Leute auf dem Toronto Filmfestival in der Vorstellung gleich have fallen over completely, mit Notarzt und allem. Wahrscheinlich PR-Bullshit, funktioniert aber prima. Dürfte wohl einer meiner Favoriten 2017 werden, der Trailer fetzt jedenfalls schonmal! Mit dabei ist übrigens die Schweizer Schauspielerin Ella Rumpf. Die junge Zürcherin überzeugte bereits im starken «Chrieg» mit einer tollen Darbietung, man darf also gespannt sein, wie sie sich im Horror-Genre schlägt. «Raw» läuft ab dem 10. März in den US-Kinos, ein Termin für unsere Breiten ist noch nicht bekannt, hier der Plot:
Everyone in Justine's family is a vet. And a vegetarian. At 16, she's a brilliant and promising student. When she starts at veterinary school, she enters a decadent, merciless and dangerously seductive world. During the first week of hazing rituals, desperate to fit in whatever the cost, she strays from her family principles when she eats raw meat for the first time.
Justine will soon face the terrible and unexpected consequences of her actions as her true self begins to emerge.
