The first season of History's bloody Irish-Canadian Viking series "Vikings" was named the most successful cable series of the year and has now also been nominated for three Emmys. Here is a first trailer for the second season, for which series creator Michael Hirst promises the following: “More armies and more Viking ships”. While this teaser doesn't reveal anything about the Season 2 storyline, we do see a nearly two-minute battle full of bloodied, bearded warriors.
The first season tells of the adventures of Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) and his plans to travel to the west and plunder there. If they actually find land west of Scandinavia, this will bring with it some envy and the intrigues won't be long in coming. Featuring Katheryn Winnick, Clive Standen and Gabriel Byrne. The second season will see more about Ragnar's son Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) and Winnick's character as Ragnar's wife Lagertha will learn more about her husband's extramarital affairs. Season 2 of Vikings is currently being filmed and is expected to premiere in 2014.
