With the third episode, “The Walking Dead” Season 6 reached a new, cruel climax. This episode was definitely a heavy hitter and left us with a major cliffhanger, especially regarding Rick. Does Rick have to sacrifice his hand? What happens next in the upcoming fourth episode and why we can look forward to episode 4!

After the crazy third episode, we all need to calm down a bit. Glenn is obviously dead (or is he not?), Rick injured his hand and is now trapped in a mobile home surrounded by walkers, there were several deaths among the Alexandrians from the quarry squad, Daryl took confusing detours and just Michonne, Heath and the injured Scott ended up reaching Alexandria, which was pretty much destroyed after the Wolves attack. Next week we can expect an extra-long episode, i.e. around 65 minutes of pure playing time, but it will obviously be dedicated solely to Morgan's story. So, despite all the cliffhangers, we will have to wait at least two weeks until we find out what happens next with the zombie herd and the ASZ! The title of episode 4 is simply “Here's not Here” and the official synopsis – short and sweet as always – is: “A new face appears; trust issues form." (“A new face appears; trust issues develop.”). So who can we look forward to in the upcoming episode? And who obviously has trust issues?

Rick certainly hasn't covered himself in glory in the three episodes of season six so far. So his idea of luring the huge walker herd away from the quarry in Alexandria instead of, as was also suggested, simply locking them up there or completely burning the entire area, was ultimately not as good as initially thought. In episode 3 we should see how Abraham, Sasha and Daryl lure the large crowd behind them, while Rick himself wanted to capture the strays and Michonne and Glenn were supposed to bring the remaining residents of Alexandria to safety. Everything ended in disaster! In addition to the eventual death of one of our favorite characters, Rick himself seriously injured his hand and ended up stuck in a trailer that wouldn't start but was surrounded by a horde of greedy walkers. How does Rick plan to get out of this situation despite his injury? And what actually happens to open wounds when they come into contact with walkers? In the comics the whole thing takes a very dramatic turn...

In the comics, the Governor punishes Rick for lying by simply chopping off his right hand! We probably wouldn't wish this fate on our series Rick, but with this possibility in mind, TWD fans were left with a huge cliffhanger in episode 3. Luckily, TWD producer Scott M. Gimple definitely revealed to TVLine what will happen to Rick's hand. “That’s absolutely a possibility,” Gimple revealed there, but the producer isn’t finished yet: “But we didn’t really go into it in the series. I'm going to go out on a limb and say something definitive: Rick is completely fine with this cut. His hand will survive. There will be a bandage. Ointment will also be in play. But he'll get away with it." At least when it comes to Rick, we obviously don't have to worry anymore, because that means that, on the one hand, he will definitely survive and, on the other hand, that he can save his hand in any case. However, how he plans to get out of this predicament in the caravan is still a mystery to us!

As we can tell thanks to the promo video, the 4th episode will revolve around Morgan and the mysterious incidents of the recent past that led to the former murderer becoming such a peace-loving Zen warrior. The promo video for this episode begins with a scene by a river where we see Morgan practicing various fighting moves with his cane. We then see a few scenes from that emblematic Morgan episode, “Clear,” from season 3, in which we saw Rick’s old friend for the last time and in which he was anything but sane. We also get insights into a few other moments of his journey, during which he was apparently alone almost the entire time. «You have to redirect these thoughts by continuing to move forward. "Still accept why we were like that and promise never to do it again," says a male voice, although we're not entirely sure whether it's Morgan's own voice or that of another man, possibly his "trainer." or “mentors”. Then that voice says: “To protect everyone,” before we can clearly see Morgan’s voice: “To create peace.” Above all, the statement hovers: “You can’t escape your past,” which makes Morgan’s inner struggle clear.

So will we see Morgan's journey from brutal killer to stick-wielding pacifist in this upcoming fourth episode? It's just a shame that after the events in the third episode, many people are actually anything but eagerly waiting for this story, because of course many fans are more eager to find out what happens next with Rick, Glenn & Co.... Well, us We're still looking forward to next Monday and hope that we'll finally be able to better understand Morgan's current patterns of action. Morgan actor Lennie James once said: “That guy (Morgan) is like granite! He has an ideology that is - apparently - in direct contrast to Rick's. He is a voice we have not heard before.” And it is precisely this voice that Rick will or must hear more and more in the coming episodes: “It is almost a kind of sequel to Carter. Carter's voice was the first to express dissent and dissent - and in essence, Morgan is simply echoing that.

When will Morgan openly oppose Rick? Will the attack on Alexandria perhaps be a reason for this? Ultimately, Rick basically left the community almost defenseless to implement his risky plan at the quarry. And Morgan didn't seem to like the fact that he killed Carter in the end. Robert Kirkman on this topic: “The way these two characters got to know each other over time is extremely interesting. In some ways, Rick has had more in common with Morgan than with many other characters in the series. But while there is a certain familiarity, we meet them again as complete strangers after everything Morgan has been through, which hasn't been revealed yet but will be revealed in an upcoming episode. But the fact that these two characters are so good at what they do and have adapted so well to this world - albeit in completely different ways... Well, I don't want to give too much away, but they will against each other and to a fairly significant extent. It’s a product of this world and everything they have to deal with.”

It remains to be seen to what extent the conflicts mentioned here will come into play in the coming episodes. One reason we can look forward to this fourth episode is that it will once again be longer! Even though AMC is of course talking about 90 minutes here, we have to subtract the advertising on US television, which still leaves around 65 minutes of running time (as in the season premiere), which leaves plenty of room to look at a topic in great detail .
