I like Sam Raimi's work best when he just makes his horror films. Spider-Man from him wasn't really good and so finally something smart again, he made another horror flick (only produced, but at least) for which he was able to win Jeffrey Dean Morgan. The trailer promises some shock moments, although I hope that wasn't all. Please more ... The trailer also speaks of a true story. Trailers do that quite often, but everything is a bit more exciting here, because the box really existed / existed. The LA Times had an article about it a few years ago. The film, in any case, will open in US cinemas on August 31st. Hopefully with us soon ...
Clyde (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Stephanie Brenek (Kyra Sedgwick) see little cause for alarm when their youngest daughter Em becomes oddly obsessed with an antique wooden box she purchased at a yard sale. But as Em's behavior becomes increasingly erratic, the couple fears the presence of a malevolent force in their midst, only to discover that the box was built to contain a dibbuk, a dislocated spirit that inhabits and ultimately devours its human host.
